It's Thanksgiving, and that means a special edition of Hear It Wow on Thanksgiving night.
But before we get to that, I'll be setting the table with a show about food and drink starting tonight (November 26) from 7 to 9 PM. Hear Colonel Sanders discuss his secret recipe! Hear Midnight Oil, Jimmy Buffet, The J's with Jamie, and the Utica Club Natural Carbonation Band. Check out a brand new song from WMFO's own Kris Earle, then settle back for the annual playing of Alice's Restaurant.
Tomorrow (Thanksgiving) at 6PM, it's the Fourth Annual Tribute to American Consumerism, the show that begat Hear It Wow. I'll be offering shopping tips from the Black Friday circulars along with product songs from Ford, Chevy, GMC, Oldsmobile, National Cole, Monroe Calculator, Williams Pinball, and many more. Plus the annual spin of the McDonald's 1979 Flexidisc with Mr. Ray Kroc himself.
Stay tuned at 8PM for the first Christmas show of the year, featuring rare EPs from The J's with Jamie and the WMFO debut of Disco Noel II.
On the air at 91.5 FM in the Boston area.
Streaming online at wmfo.org.
Have a safe, happy and fun Thanksgiving.
Tune in Twice

Rockin, not Stirred
Labels: Show News 0 commentsMuch fun coming your way between now and Thanksgiving Night, so set the radio to 91.5 FM and rip the knob off. What I wouldn't give for an MP3 of Ken Nordine saying that.
Here's a rundown of what's coming:
Wednesday, November 12
The holiday season kicks off this weekend with the first big holiday blockbuster of the year. I'm talking about A Quantum of Solace, of course, and to get you in the mood, I'll be playing all of the James Bond theme songs. There'll be some Hear It Wow touches along the way, including alternate versions of "A View to a Kill," covers, and a Madonna spy movie theme song that doesn't suck.
Wednesday, November 19
Shawn Donovan joins me live in the studio (when's the last time we did that?) to promote his upcoming Bene-Foot for The Cryptozoology Museum in Maine. That's happening November 22 at the Empire Lounge in Portland, and you Portland, Portland, That's My Home Town folks can get more information at www.cryptomundo.com. We'll be talking bigfoot, nessie, chupacabra, and all those other wonderful creatures that may or may not exist.
Wednesday, November 26
Hear It Wow's Second Annual Salute to Food and Drink will whet your Thanksgiving appetitie with songs about dinner and booze. Topped off with Alice's Restaurant.
Thursday, November 27
A Hear It Wow Thanksgiving tradition continues, with the Fourth Annual Tribute to American Consumerism. Tune in for product-driven music, my commercial blooper medely, and the annual airing of McDonald's 1978 Flexidisc. I'll also be running down the Black Friday circulars so you can plan your Christmas shopping adventure. The fun starts at 6PM on Thanksgiving night. Stay tuned at 8 for two hours of Christmas music, including the debut of one of the best holiday music finds ever. Trust me on this one.
All the shows (except Thanksgiving night) air from 7 to 9PM Eastern Time on 91.5 FM in Boston. Tune in online at wmfo.org or through iTunes and enjoy our new and improved 256kbps Web stream.
And as if that isn't enough...
J's with Jamie fans, keep your eyes on WFMU's Beware of the Blog, where I'll be posting several of their albums, including their rare Christmas EPs, over the next few weeks. Look for my posts every Wednesday around 3PM Eastern.
