Where's the darned content?

No new releases, no podcasts, infrequent updates. Could this be just another abandoned blog on the Web? No, my friends, I assure you it's not. I've just been overwhelmed since the start of the year with a new job and a planned April 1 move. Once the move's out of the way, I can focus on rehabbing this blog and getting things back on track.

Until then, there's more radio shows to enjoy and my biweekly posts over at WFMU. I've posted Charlie Hustle this week in honor of the start of baseball season. I've also cleaned it up a bit and encoded it at a much higher rate. You can play it tonight while you wait for baseball season to start sometime tomorrow morning.

On the air this Wednesday is a show I'm calling WannaBeatles. No shortage of artists have attempted to capture the Fab Four's magic, either through covers of Beatle songs or outright deception, at least one example of which was good enough to fool Yoko Ono.

Tune in from 7-9PM Eastern Daylight Savings Time. It's WMFO, 91.5 on the Boston dial, wmfo.org on the Web. You can even listen through the live audio stream on iTunes.

Tonight at 7PM EDST (that's right, we set the clocks ahead already), Lowell's own Speakermute joins me to talk about their music and influences and maybe, if you're good, play some acoustic tunes live on the air. Listen live on 91.5 FM in Boston. If you're in Lowell, home of the uber-powerful WUML, or anyplace outside our broadcast range, you can tune in online by visiting wmfo.org. These guys threw down the best cover of "Stand By Me" I've ever heard at TT The Bear's Place last Sunday night.

Research tells me that the bold phrase above is a good way to get traffic from Google. It's also a nice way to announce my latest contribution to WFMU's Beware of the Blog, consisting of a stereo-demo "drama" and an early radio-only 78 from Dorothy Shea. Download and enjoy, and don't forget to make that contribution to WFMU by Sunday night, when the fund-raising marathon comes to an end.

Next week, if you can believe it, it's time for my annual Salute to Spring, and boston comic Dan Boulger will be either stopping by or phoning it in before the end of the month.
