Is that a Minima Dark template? Why haven't any albums been posted in months? Why hasn't anything been posted?
There are answers to these questions, and at last I'm at liberty to share them. Since January, I've been involved in the creation of a new Web site for IAC. It's called Life123.com, and we finally launched it today. Officially, I'm in charge of the Technology section, among other things, and there's much good content to enjoy over there if you're in the market for any shiny technology. I recommend the Sony XBR series if you're in the market for a flat screen.
From mid-April until July, I didn't have a day off. There's been many, many hours spent polishing and uploading to get that site to the place it needed to be. Everything else got pushed aside. Such is the world of launch, which is one letter removed from lunch, much as lunch is one meal removed from my day when I'm working like I have been.
So that's that. As for the Minima Dark template, it's temporary, and should be replaced with something customized by this time next week, along with some new blog features and better organization of what's here. I'm going back and deleting a lot of old posts that aren't relevant or aren't stocked with delicious vinyl goodness.
As for the album uploads, you'll find them every Wednesday at 3PM on WFMU's Beware of the Blog. Some recent ones that I haven't had a chance to announce here are The Actor's Prayer by Jackie Gleason, Muhammad Ali and His Gang Vs. Mr. Tooth Decay, and Drive Like a Pro, featuring Don Adams phoning in a PSA. This week, you'll get to enjoy Genius on the Black Side hosted by James Earl Jones, which some of you may remember from last summer's Transcription Theater. I'd really hoped to do that again this summer. I'd really hoped to have lunch today too.
The show continues on Wednesday nights from 7 to 9PM Eastern Delight Savings Time. I'm ripping vinyl for the rest of the summer (unless some major event takes place in the music world), and you simply must tune in for the start of this week's show. I'll be opening with Side 2 of the Volume 2 Issue 2 of Programmer's Digest from 1973, a record magazine about the radio business during the heyday of freeform FM. Side 1 was a pure joy, revealing that Don Imus was the future of radio. Side 2 promises more of the same.
So, to recap,
1. Visit Life123.com
2. Grab some downloads from WFMU
3. Tune in on Wednesday at 7
4. Offer me a sandwich if you see me between the hours of 12PM and 2PM.
What's all this then?
